About the event

The WakaFit OC1 / W1 FUNCTIONAL workshop is 2  hours for paddlers to understand the functional movements of paddling, learn the skills, tools to enable the right muscles to be used in paddling to generate the most effective power output specific to OC1 / OC2 We teach tips and techniques that will enable you to paddle smarter, straighter with more confidence and power in your stroke, along with rigging tips. 

The workshop is open to all OC1 /V1 paddlers, all levels wanting to learn to be faster and smarter on and off the water. This will also ensure that our paddlers are paddling the smartest and effective way to minimise injury, increase power and enjoyment of paddling.

All paddlers must be competent swimmers, have their own canoe, lifejackets, bailers and spare paddles when attending these workshops. 

Come learn from World W1 Premier Womens champion, and International Paddling Coach, Vesna Radonich who has over 20 years of waka ama experience, 15 years world champion in both individual and team events, personal trainer and international paddling coach. First NZ woman to win ELITE W1 500m and been apart of 10 years National Champion Open Womens team “Kaiarahi Toa”.

NON-CLUB members are required to pay a $20 fee for access of the Comox Valley Canoe Racing Club canoes.
