The WakaFit 2.5 W6 SPRINT workshop is 2 1/2 hours practical learning on how to apply stroke types specific to sprint racing to get the best out of your team. You will learn how to plan a race strategy together for 500m and apply it on the water.

About the event
The WakaFit 2.5 W6 SPRINT workshop is 2 1/2 hours practical learning on how to apply stroke types specific to sprint racing to get the best out of your team. You will learn how to plan a race strategy together for 500m and apply it on the water. And learn team roles of turns for 1000m/1500m races and that it takes 6 paddlers to turn a waka.
All paddlers must be competent swimmers, have lifejackets, bailers and spare paddles when attending these workshops. Juniors are welcome to attend though are required parental supervision at all times. A waiver form will be required to be signed by all paddlers/participants before each workshop.
Come learn from World W1 Premier Womens champion, and International Paddling Coach, Vesna Radonich who has over 20 years of waka ama experience, 15 years world champion in both individual and team events, personal trainer and international paddling coach. First NZ woman to win ELITE W1 500m and been apart of 10 years National Champion Open Womens team “Kaiarahi Toa”.
Paddlers wanting to do this workshop need to complete WakaFit 2.5 W6 FUNCTIONAL workshop first, as you need to understand FUNCTIONAL movement of paddling before learning types of paddling strokes specific to sprints
