Our Foundations Paddle Camp is where strong paddlers are made. Designed for beginners and developing athletes, this four-day experience focuses on building safe, efficient technique, confidence on the water, and a deep understanding of waka ama fundamentals — all in the birthplace of the sport in New Zealand.
Held during Gisborne’s warm East Coast summer, Foundations offers a supportive and structured learning environment without the pressure of advanced ocean or surf conditions. It is the perfect starting point for those new to waka ama, returning after time away, or wanting to correct habits and rebuild their stroke from the ground up.
